Meet the Artist

 

Kevin Cain started drawing at an early age and never stopped. He studied illustration at the New School of Visual Concepts in Seattle and received a certificate in Art for the Children's Market from the University of Washington Extension Program. He believes children's illustration to be one of the last, best venues for art created by hand. He has been a member of SCBWI since 2006, and is currently writing a young adult novel.

 

Kevin is a freelance illustrator working in watercolor, pen and ink, and colored pencil. His interest in medieval art, calligraphy, and Celtic art is increasingly finding its way into his work.

 

Among other things, Kevin has been a deckhand, a longshoreman, and a printer. He does the crossword puzzle in pen and is totally inept at juggling.
